CCTV Supply and Installation at Pacific Grand Villas -- Day 2 & 3 Progress Report.
Introduction
With the Friday deadline fast approaching, the CCTV installation at Pacific Grand Villas continued to move forward with focused momentum. After a productive Day 1 that saw 50% of the PVC conduit installed, the team at InstallersPH IT Solutions pushed forward into Day 2 with the goal of completing all conduit work and starting the core structured cabling phase.
By Day 3, installation activities expanded significantly as the team mounted the CCTV cameras, routed Cat6 cables through the installed PVC conduits, and completed the setup of the Network Video Recorder (NVR) and Power over Ethernet (PoE) switch—bringing the system to life.
This back-to-back progress report covers the continued efforts and achievements of Days 2 and 3, as the project nears completion.
Day 2: Completion of PVC Piping and Cable Pulling.
Day 2 began with the team focused on wrapping up the remaining indoor PVC pipe installation. As per the client’s request, all cable routing—both inside and outside the home—was to be done using PVC conduit only, avoiding the use of surface moldings to maintain a unified and durable cabling structure.
By midday, the team had successfully completed 100% of the PVC pipe installation across the property. Interior runs were aligned neatly along ceiling lines and wall corners to ensure minimal visual disruption. All joints were sealed, all anchors secured, and the routing was carefully measured for precision and consistency.
Structured Cabling Phase
With the conduit routes ready, the team began pulling Cat6 Ethernet cables and power lines through the newly installed pipes. These cables would support both data and power transmission to the six strategically placed CCTV cameras.
Each line was labeled at both ends to simplify the installation of the cameras and connection to the NVR. Indoor and outdoor teams worked in sync, routing cables from each camera location to the centralized NVR hub located in the living room.
Day 2 Accomplishments:
✅ 100% completion of PVC conduit installation
✅ Cat6 and power cable pulling for all six camera locations
✅ Route labeling and preparation for easy system integration
✅ Minor layout adjustments based on homeowner input
✅ On schedule for Friday completion
Day 3: Camera Mounting and System Hardware Setup.
With the infrastructure now fully in place, Day 3 kicked off with full-speed progress as the team moved into the camera and system installation phase.
Camera Installation.
The team began mounting the six CCTV cameras, starting with the outdoor units to cover the gate, driveway, backyard, and side perimeter. Each outdoor camera was anchored securely on weather-resistant brackets and connected to the pre-routed cables.
The indoor cameras—located in the main hallway and living area—were installed with the same attention to precision, using anchors and grommets to preserve wall integrity and ensure a clean finish. Cable excess was managed inside junction boxes for future serviceability.
Cable Termination and Testing.
With all cameras mounted, the next step was terminating the Cat6 cables into RJ45 connectors and patching them into the PoE switch. This setup allows power and data to be delivered to each camera using a single cable, eliminating the need for separate power supplies.
Each terminated cable was tested for continuity and signal integrity before final connection to the NVR. Initial tests showed all camera feeds online, indicating successful connectivity.
NVR and PoE Switch Setup.
The team also completed the installation of the Network Video Recorder (NVR) and PoE switch in the living room cabinet, which was selected on Day 1 for its accessibility and ventilation. The setup included:
Mounting the PoE switch and NVR on a flat surface
Connecting cameras via labeled patch cables
Connecting the NVR to the internet router for remote access configuration
Testing local display output to a monitor for real-time viewing
All components were neatly organized and secured, with power management integrated for safe operation.
Day 3 Accomplishments:
✅ Mounted all six CCTV cameras (indoor and outdoor)
✅ Pulled and terminated Cat6 cables to each device
✅ Successfully installed and configured the NVR and PoE switch
✅ Verified camera feeds and initial signal tests
✅ Maintained timeline toward Friday system handover
What’s Next?
As the project enters its final phase, the team will now:
Finalize system settings and camera configurations
Set up mobile and remote viewing access for the homeowner
Perform full system testing and run diagnostics
Conduct client orientation on how to operate and manage the system
Handle final clean-up and cable concealment touch-ups
By Thursday, the system should be fully operational and ready for turnover, giving the homeowner complete peace of mind before their scheduled departure on Friday.
Conclusion
Days 2 and 3 of the CCTV Installation Project at Pacific Grand Villas brought the vision to life with substantial progress. With all PVC pipework now completed, Cat6 cables successfully routed, cameras mounted, and the NVR system fully installed, the backbone of the security system is in place and functioning.
Thanks to a skilled and focused team, along with a cooperative and engaged homeowner, the project remains firmly on track. The system is now entering its final configuration stage, and full activation is just around the corner.
Stay tuned for the final update as the team prepares to complete and hand over the system in time for the client’s Friday deadline.
