Introduction.

A secure and well-structured network is essential for any modern business to operate efficiently and protect its digital assets. On March 14, 2026, the InstallersPH IT Solutions team conducted a firewall configuration and IP address setup at Chicky’ Oink located in Tingub, Mandaue City, Cebu. The activity aimed to enhance network security, improve device connectivity, and ensure stable internet access for daily operations. Through careful planning and systematic implementation, the team successfully completed the configuration while maintaining best practices in network management.

Site Arrival and Preparation.

The team arrived on-site at approximately 9:50 AM and immediately coordinated with the client’s representative to review the scope of work. Initial preparations included assessing the existing network setup and ensuring that all necessary equipment and tools were ready for deployment. This step was crucial in identifying any potential issues and aligning the configuration process with the client’s operational requirements.

Firewall Configuration Process.

At 9:55 AM, the team began configuring the existing firewall device located within the data cabinet. The firewall serves as the first line of defense against unauthorized access and cyber threats, making its proper setup a top priority. The device was carefully connected to the current network infrastructure to ensure seamless integration. Configuration settings were applied to regulate traffic, enhance security policies, and maintain a stable connection for all network users. Attention to detail during this phase ensured that the firewall would effectively monitor and control incoming and outgoing network activity.

IP Address Assignment and Network Structuring.

Following the firewall setup, the team proceeded with the configuration of IP addresses for the company’s devices, including phones and computers. Each device was assigned a specific IP address based on the designed network structure, allowing for organized communication within the system. This structured approach helps prevent IP conflicts, improves network efficiency, and simplifies future troubleshooting or expansion. Proper IP allocation also ensures that devices can reliably connect to shared resources and access the internet without interruption.

Testing and Validation.

After completing the configurations, thorough testing was conducted to verify the functionality of both the firewall and the assigned IP addresses. Each device underwent connectivity checks to confirm stable network communication and internet access. The team ensured that the firewall rules were functioning as intended and that no disruptions were present in the system. These validation steps are critical in guaranteeing that the network operates smoothly and securely after deployment.

Conclusion.

Final checks were carried out to confirm that all configurations met the required standards. With everything functioning properly, the team successfully completed the task and departed the site at 2:12 PM. The firewall configuration and IP address setup at Chicky’ Oink significantly improved the establishment’s network security and operational reliability. This project highlights the importance of proper network configuration in supporting business continuity, safeguarding data, and enabling efficient day-to-day activities.
