Introduction.
Maintaining a reliable security infrastructure is a cornerstone of guest safety and operational integrity in the hospitality industry. On February 25, 2026, our technical team performed a comprehensive Preventive Maintenance Service (PMS) at San Jose Pension House, located at 131 Rahman St., Brgy. Zapatera, Cebu City. This scheduled maintenance was focused on the core surveillance hardware and data management systems. By proactively addressing physical wear and environmental factors like dust accumulation, we ensured the pension house maintains uninterrupted monitoring capabilities and a high standard of security for its residents and staff.
Arrival and Initial Assessment.
Our team arrived at the establishment at 2:54 PM and, following a brief coordination meeting with the assigned facility staff, officially commenced the service at 2:56 PM. The initial phase involved a high-level audit of the central recording station and the data cabinet. We identified that while the system was operational, heavy dust buildup and cluttered cabling within the cabinet posed long-term risks to hardware longevity. By establishing this baseline, we were able to systematically target areas that required cleaning and reorganization to prevent future system downtime.

System Inspection and Troubleshooting.
The technical process began with a deep clean of the CCTV Digital Video Recorder (DVR). Because DVR units are prone to overheating when internal fans and components become clogged with debris, we carefully extracted dust to stabilize the unit’s operating temperature.
Following the DVR service, we turned our attention to the Data Cabinet, performing the following critical tasks:
- Cable Reorganization: We tidied the network and power cables, securing them to prevent accidental disconnections and applying labels for easier future identification.
- Connection Integrity: Every port was inspected, and all loose connections were tightened to ensure a steady signal flow between the cameras and the recording unit.
- Infrastructure Health Check: The power supply and network switches were tested for stable electrical throughput, and the cabinet’s ventilation areas were cleared to facilitate better airflow.
System Testing and Confirmation.
Once the physical maintenance and cable management were complete, we conducted a full system verification. This included checking the live feed from all cameras to ensure no signal degradation occurred during the process and confirming that the DVR was actively writing data to the storage drives. By the end of the session, all network links were stable, and the recording functions were verified as 100% operational. The reorganization of the cabinet not only improved the aesthetic of the server area but also significantly reduced the risk of hardware-related failures.
