Structured Cabling at Talisay Residential Property -- 9th progress.

Introduction

The structured cabling project at the Talisay residential property continues to take shape with the successful installation of three 24-port patch panels inside the data cabinet. In this phase, the team also carried out the termination of all 72 CAT6 cables, followed by thorough cable cleanup and alignment using cable ties—from the cabinet, up to the ceiling, and down through the floors.

Work Accomplished:

1. Patch Panel Installation
The team began by mounting three standard 24-port CAT6 patch panels inside the data cabinet located on the third floor. These panels serve as the main interface for managing all the network connections throughout the property.

  • Each panel was securely fastened using rack screws and aligned with sufficient spacing to allow for cable management and proper ventilation.

  • The patch panels were labeled for easy identification, supporting the structured labeling system already in place for each cable drop.

2. Termination of 72 CAT6 Cables
A total of 72 CAT6 cables—representing all network outlets from the ground, second, and third floors—were terminated into the installed patch panels.

  • Cables were stripped and punched down into each panel using the T568B standard.

  • Each termination was handled with precision, maintaining proper cable twist and avoiding any strain at the punch-down blocks.

  • Cables were matched to their labeled counterparts and properly routed into the appropriate patch panel ports.

3. Cable Tidying and Routing with Cable Ties
Following termination, the team focused on tidying up all cables originating from the patch panels and running out of the cabinet.

  • Cable ties were used to bundle and secure the cables inside the cabinet, grouping them by floor and routing them through the designated exit points at the top.

  • From the cabinet upward, cables were bundled neatly and tied at consistent intervals along the vertical cable manager, then routed through the ceiling pathway.

  • The tidy bundling continued across all levels—from the third floor (cabinet) to the second and ground floors—ensuring the structured cabling remained aligned, safe, and easy to manage.

This step not only improved the visual cleanliness of the setup but also helped minimize cable sagging, tangling, or accidental snagging during the remaining installation tasks.

Conclusion

With the three patch panels installed, all 72 CAT6 cables terminated, and cable routes fully organized using cable ties, the structured cabling system is now physically unified and professionally arranged. The clean, bundled layout from the cabinet to the ceiling and through each floor reflects our commitment to performance and maintainability.

This update brings the project another step closer to completion, laying the groundwork for integrating the active network components in the final phase.
