Structured Cabling at Calyx Residences.

Introduction
In the evolving digital landscape, a fast and stable internet connection is not just a convenience—it is a necessity. Whether for remote work, home entertainment, or smart home integration, a solid network infrastructure is the silent backbone of every modern residence. Recognizing this growing need, our team at Installersph IT Solutions was called to perform a structured cabling service at Calyx Residences, a premier residential condominium known for its sleek architecture and upscale living standards.
Our client, a resident of Calyx Residences, required a well-planned and reliable home network installation that would support his day-to-day online requirements while maintaining the sophisticated aesthetics of his unit. The project involved the installation of Cat6 Ethernet cables, precise application of cable moldings, use of No More Nails adhesive, termination testing, and a clean finish to the Ethernet wall socket.
This article provides a comprehensive look into the service we delivered—from the planning stage down to the final verification—highlighting our commitment to detail, quality, and client satisfaction.

Understanding the Scope: Enhancing Connectivity Without Compromising Aesthetics.
Calyx Residences is a luxury high-rise located in Cebu IT Park, designed for residents who expect both form and function from their homes. As such, any cabling work must not only perform efficiently but must also blend seamlessly with the interior design of the unit. Our goal was to implement a structured cabling system that would deliver high-speed data transmission and maintain the integrity of the unit’s visual appeal.
The following points defined our scope of work:
Using Cat6 Cables for High-Performance Networking
Applying Cable Moldings to Protect and Conceal Wires
Utilizing “No More Nails” Adhesive for Seamless Mounting
Testing and Verifying Cable Termination
Clean Ethernet Socket Integration
1. Deploying Cat6 Cables: Built for Speed and Stability.
The foundation of the project was the installation of Category 6 (Cat6) cables. Compared to older standards such as Cat5 or Cat5e, Cat6 cables offer greater bandwidth (up to 250 MHz) and faster transmission speeds (up to 10 Gbps for shorter distances). These characteristics make Cat6 the ideal choice for homes that require uninterrupted video streaming, video conferencing, gaming, and the use of multiple smart devices.
We selected high-quality Cat6 UTP (Unshielded Twisted Pair) cables that met the ANSI/TIA-568 standards, ensuring durability and minimal crosstalk. Cables were carefully measured to minimize slack and prevent signal degradation, while allowing enough length for routing and clean termination.
2. Cable Moldings: Protection and Presentation in One
While the functionality of the cable is paramount, aesthetics also matter, especially in a premium residence like Calyx. Cables left exposed or loosely hanging not only look messy but are also vulnerable to damage from foot traffic, pets, cleaning equipment, or even furniture movement.
To address this, we installed cable moldings—also known as raceways—throughout the length of the installation path. These moldings serve a dual purpose: they protect the cables from external wear and tear and conceal them neatly, ensuring that the network infrastructure does not clash with the room’s design.
We carefully selected low-profile, paintable white moldings that matched the unit’s interior palette. Moldings were cut to precise lengths and arranged strategically along wall edges, corners, and baseboards to make them as unobtrusive as possible.
3. “No More Nails” Adhesive: A Clean and Strong Solution.
In high-rise units like those in Calyx Residences, drilling into concrete or finished surfaces is often discouraged or restricted, both to maintain structural integrity and to avoid permanent marks on the walls. For this reason, we opted to use “No More Nails” adhesive, a construction-grade glue designed specifically for bonding moldings, panels, and fixtures without mechanical fasteners.
This adhesive allowed us to securely mount the cable moldings without the use of nails or screws. The result was a non-invasive and clean installation that respected the building’s guidelines and the client’s preference for minimal disruption.
Using “No More Nails” also enabled faster installation times while ensuring that the mounted moldings remained flush with the surface, providing a polished and professional finish.
4. Termination and Cable Testing: Ensuring Network Integrity.
Once the cabling and moldings were installed, the next step was termination—connecting the Cat6 cable to RJ-45 connectors and Ethernet wall plates. Termination is a critical phase in any structured cabling project, as even a slight misalignment or wire-crossing can cause packet loss, slow speeds, or complete signal failure.
We used a T568B standard pinout configuration for all terminations to maintain consistency and compatibility with most networking equipment. Each terminated cable was tested using a digital cable tester to confirm the following:
Correct pin assignments (no reversals, opens, or shorts)
Cable continuity
Signal strength and attenuation
Interference or noise issues
All cables passed testing with excellent results, confirming that the network was ready for high-performance use.
Verification and Client Confirmation.
After restoring the signal, the team performed a full verification of the system. Speed tests were conducted to ensure proper download and upload throughput, and latency values were assessed to confirm they were within Starlink’s expected operational range.
In addition, the team tested the internet connection across various devices within the household, including smartphones, laptops, and smart TVs. The client was able to access online services without interruption, confirming the effectiveness of the adjustment.
Before leaving the site, the team briefed the client on best practices for maintaining optimal Starlink performance. This included regularly checking for physical obstructions, avoiding the relocation of the dish, and monitoring connectivity using the Starlink mobile app. The client was also advised on the proper steps to take should connectivity issues reoccur in the future.
5. Final Socket Connection: Clean and Functional Finishing.
To complete the installation, we connected each terminated cable to standard Ethernet wall sockets. These sockets were aligned precisely with the moldings to ensure a continuous, clean line along the wall. Each faceplate was leveled, flush-mounted, and securely fastened to its outlet box, giving the impression of an integrated and purpose-built home network.
Cable slack was minimized behind the faceplates to avoid any unnecessary bulge or wiring loop. The final result was a professional-grade data point that allowed the resident to plug in routers, PCs, smart TVs, or other network devices without a tangle of visible cables.
Attention to Detail: What Sets This Project Apart.
While this project was relatively modest in scale compared to commercial installations, it required an extraordinary level of attention to detail due to the high standards of the residential unit. Every step—from cable selection to molding placement—was executed with precision.
Key differentiators of this installation included:
Meticulous Molding Layout: Each length was pre-measured and cut cleanly to avoid overlaps or awkward joints.
No Drill Policy Compliance: By using “No More Nails,” we upheld Calyx’s policies and maintained wall integrity.
Discrete Routing: Moldings followed the least intrusive paths along natural room edges.
Client Involvement: We consulted the client regularly during the installation to ensure alignment with their vision and feedback.
Client Satisfaction and Outcome.
While the client was unable to complete the official survey, they shared how pleased they were with both the quality of the work and the professionalism of the technicians who carried it out. They noted that everything was installed cleanly and to their expectations, with the technicians conducting themselves courteously and efficiently throughout the process. The client also expressed their intention to use our services again in the future and mentioned they would be happy to recommend our company to others in need of similar structured cabling work. Their positive feedback reflects the successful delivery of a solution that met both technical standards and aesthetic goals.
Conclusion
The structured cabling service at Calyx Residences illustrates how a professionally executed installation can elevate the quality of connectivity in a residential setting while maintaining the elegance of the living space. Through the use of Cat6 cables, clean moldings, adhesive mounting, and precise terminations, we delivered a solution that aligns with the standards of modern smart living.
This project stands as a model for future residential installations, especially in environments where aesthetic preservation is just as important as network performance. At Installersph IT Solutions, we believe that no project is too small to deserve the highest levels of care, craftsmanship, and attention to detail.
Whether it’s for a home office setup, a gaming network, or simply better Wi-Fi coverage, structured cabling remains the invisible champion of digital life. And when it’s done right, it not only works better—it looks better too.
