Starlink Site Inspection at a Residence in Ecology Village.

Site Video.
Project Overview.
On July 10, 2026, at approximately 2:45 PM, the team traveled from Makati City to Ecology Village Homeowners Association to conduct a site inspection for a residential Starlink Gen 3 installation. The purpose of the visit was to evaluate the property, identify the most suitable mounting location for the satellite dish, and provide professional recommendations that would ensure reliable internet connectivity. Since every Starlink installation is unique, a proper site assessment is essential to determine the safest and most effective installation method based on the home’s structure and surrounding environment.
Assessment of the Existing Installation Attempt.
Upon arrival, the team learned that the homeowner had initially attempted to install the Starlink system independently. During the inspection, it was discovered that the client had purchased an incompatible mounting bracket for the Starlink Gen 3 dish. To make it work, they attempted to modify the setup by drilling directly into the dish’s built-in mounting bracket. Unfortunately, the improvised installation did not provide a secure or reliable solution, leading the homeowner to discontinue the attempt and seek assistance from professional installers. The team explained the importance of using the correct mounting accessories, as improper installation can affect both the stability of the equipment and the overall performance of the Starlink system.
Evaluation of the Proposed Mounting Location.
The client then guided the team to their preferred installation area, which was beside an exterior wall directly in front of a large glass window. While the location appeared convenient from the homeowner’s perspective, the team carefully evaluated the surroundings and determined that it would not provide the ideal operating conditions for the Starlink dish. Because Starlink satellites require a wide, unobstructed view of the sky, installing the dish near walls or areas with limited visibility could result in signal interruptions and reduced internet performance. Based on these findings, the team advised against using the proposed location and explained the technical reasons behind the recommendation.
Roof Inspection and Technical Recommendation.
To identify a better installation point, the team inspected the side portion of the home’s roof. Although the elevated location offered a clearer line of sight to the sky, further assessment revealed that the roofing material was extremely hard and had a cement-like composition. Drilling directly into this surface could potentially damage the roof and create leaks that would be difficult to repair. Rather than risking permanent structural damage, the team recommended avoiding direct installation on the roof itself. Instead, they proposed using a compatible Starlink Gen 3 extended mounting bracket specifically designed for the property’s roof configuration. This solution would allow the dish to be mounted securely while extending it above the roofline to achieve optimal satellite visibility without compromising the integrity of the roof.
Installation Scheduling and Client Coordination.
Before concluding the inspection, the client informed the team that they preferred the installation to take place on a Saturday. This schedule would allow the homeowner’s husband to be present during the installation process and assist with activating the Starlink account and completing the initial system setup. The team acknowledged the request and noted the preferred schedule to ensure that the installation could be completed efficiently while providing the necessary assistance for activation and testing.
Conclusion
The site inspection was successfully completed at approximately 3:15 PM. Through a detailed assessment of the property, the team identified several factors that could affect the quality and longevity of the Starlink installation, including the use of an incompatible mounting bracket, limitations of the client’s preferred installation location, and the potential risks associated with drilling into the existing roof structure. By recommending a compatible extended mounting bracket and a safer installation approach, the team ensured that the client would receive a solution that maximizes signal performance while protecting the home’s structural integrity. The inspection also allowed both the client and the installation team to coordinate the preferred installation schedule, laying the groundwork for a smooth and successful Starlink Gen 3 installation.
