Starlink Connectivity Assessment at Campion ABA Inc. – First Inspection Update.

Introduction

As part of Campion ABA Inc.’s ongoing efforts to improve internet reliability and operational efficiency, the company partnered with InstallersPH IT Solutions to explore the feasibility of deploying a Starlink satellite internet system. This initial inspection marks the first phase of the project, aimed at evaluating the site’s suitability for satellite-based connectivity at their rented space in City Times Square, Cebu.

Initial Assessment and Signal Testing.

Our technical team conducted an on-site inspection to test the Starlink signal and assess the overall environment for a potential installation. Using the Starlink mobile application, we performed a sky scan from within the vicinity of Campion ABA Inc.’s rented space to determine whether a clear line of sight could be achieved.

Unfortunately, the test results confirmed a failed signal reception. The primary reason for the failure was the presence of tall buildings surrounding the area, effectively blocking the satellite’s signal path. Given that Starlink requires an unobstructed view of the sky to function effectively, the signal could not penetrate the dense vertical barriers present at the current office level.

Collaborative Decision and Building Administration Approval.

After reviewing the situation, our team discussed the findings with the client and explored alternative options. The most feasible solution identified was to mount the Starlink dish on the rooftop of the building—far above the signal obstructions—to establish a direct line of sight to the satellite network.

To move forward with this plan, the client reached out to the City Times Square building administration to request permission for rooftop installation. The building admin responded positively and granted approval after reviewing the proposal and its compliance with safety and infrastructure guidelines.

Next Steps: Reinspection and Route Planning.

With the necessary authorization secured, the next phase of the project involves a follow-up site visit. This reinspection will focus on mapping out the optimal cable route from the rooftop to Campion ABA Inc.’s office. The team will assess possible pathways, entry points, and cable management solutions, ensuring minimal disruption to the building’s structure and tenant operations.

During this reinspection, we will also estimate the required cable lengths, identify mounting and securing needs, and prepare for the full installation of the Starlink system in compliance with both technical and administrative requirements.

Conclusion

While the first inspection revealed challenges due to the urban environment’s limitations, it also paved the way for a more robust and reliable solution. The cooperation between Campion ABA Inc., the building administrator, and InstallersPH IT Solutions has allowed the project to adapt and proceed with a rooftop-based strategy. We look forward to completing the reinspection and progressing toward the successful deployment of Starlink connectivity at the site. Future updates will cover route planning outcomes and installation milestones.
