To address this, our team initiated the supply and installation of an IP Intercom Door Bell with Camera Feed at Animal Wellness, a veterinary facility known for its dedication to animal care.
The system chosen for this project is a Hikvision wireless door bell intercom, designed for high-definition video monitoring, seamless Wi-Fi connectivity, and mobile integration through the HIK-Connect app. This progress update covers the work accomplished during the initial phase of installation, which included the setup of the door bell, monitor mounting, and router installation.
Installation of the Wireless Door Bell.
The first step in this project was the installation of the Hikvision wireless door bell at the main entrance. The device was strategically mounted to provide a wide-angle view of all visitors entering the premises. Its placement ensures maximum visibility, allowing the staff of Animal Wellness to clearly see and communicate with anyone outside before granting access.
Since the system is wireless, installation was completed with minimal disruption to ongoing operations. Unlike traditional systems requiring long runs of cabling, this solution only needed to be connected to the facility’s Wi-Fi, making the process faster and more efficient. Once powered on and configured, the device immediately began transmitting real-time video and audio feeds.
Router Installation for Network Stability.
To ensure the intercom system would perform at its best, our team also installed a dedicated router to support the Wi-Fi connectivity of the device. While Animal Wellness already had an internal network, the addition of a dedicated router helps optimize bandwidth allocation for the intercom system and prevents interruptions caused by heavy network traffic from other devices.
The router was configured to prioritize the data flow of the Hikvision door bell, ensuring smooth video streaming and reliable two-way communication. This extra step guarantees that the intercom will remain stable even during peak hours of internet usage within the facility. After setup, several connection tests confirmed that the device could maintain uninterrupted performance.
Mounting of the Indoor Monitor.
In addition to the door bell and router installation, our team successfully mounted the indoor monitor, an essential component of the intercom system. This monitor serves as a centralized control and viewing station for the staff.
The monitor was installed at a carefully selected location inside the facility, ensuring it is easily accessible to employees. From this monitor, staff can view live camera feeds, answer door bell calls, and manage entry requests with just a few taps. Its position was chosen to maximize visibility and efficiency, allowing employees to respond quickly to visitors without needing to rely solely on their mobile devices.
The monitor also works in perfect synchronization with the door bell and router, creating a seamless and integrated system that strengthens both security and convenience.
Mobile Integration with HIK-Connect.
Alongside the physical installations, the system was also configured for remote access using HIK-Connect, Hikvision’s mobile application. Authorized staff at Animal Wellness can now monitor the entrance directly from their smartphones or tablets, receiving instant notifications whenever the door bell is pressed.
Through HIK-Connect, they can view the live video feed, engage in two-way audio communication with visitors, and manage door access remotely. This mobile integration ensures that staff remain connected to the system even when they are away from the monitor or busy attending to animals in different parts of the facility.
