Fiber Optic Supply and Installation for Rapid Visa -- First Progress Update.

Introduction

In alignment with RapidVisa’s initiative to strengthen its IT backbone and ensure high-speed, reliable connectivity between departments, our team began the initial phase of the fiber optic supply and installation at their Cebu Business Park office. Following the recently completed site inspection and route planning, this first progress update documents the beginning of the physical work connecting their main data cabinet to the newly constructed extension office.

Initial Site Work and Cable Routing.

To initiate the fiber run, the team began by carefully removing several ceiling tiles along the approved overhead pathway. This was done to accommodate PVC piping that would securely house and protect the fiber optic cable while minimizing exposure and maintaining a clean, professional appearance throughout the workspace.

Once the ceiling pathway was prepared, the fiber optic cable was routed from Data Cabinet 1 (located in the main office) to Data Cabinet 2 (positioned in the extension area). This physical link establishes the foundational connection required for the high-speed data transmission between the two office zones.

The process involved:

  • Strategic placement of PVC conduits through ceiling areas to protect the cable and adhere to proper bend radius specifications.

  • Pulling and securing of fiber optic cable through these conduits to prevent strain and preserve cable integrity.

  • Routing that avoids HVAC systems, power lines, and structural beams to reduce interference and ensure safety.

Next Steps

With the physical routing of the fiber cable between the two cabinets now in place, the upcoming tasks will include:

  • Fiber splicing and termination at both cabinet endpoints.

  • Testing for signal strength, continuity, and interference.

  • Final cleanup and reinstallation of ceiling tiles and visible pathway enclosures.

  • Certification and documentation of the completed link.

These next steps will solidify the fiber connection and ensure that the infrastructure meets industry standards for performance and reliability.

Conclusion

The first phase of the fiber optic installation at RapidVisa marks a strong start to upgrading their network infrastructure. By completing the overhead PVC routing and linking the main and extension data cabinets, the team has laid the groundwork for a fast, scalable, and efficient fiber-based communication system. Once termination and testing are complete, the enhanced network will support RapidVisa’s operational growth, enabling smoother data handling and future-proofed connectivity across the entire office space.
