CCTV Supply and Installation at Dunggoan, Danao, Cebu -- Progress Update.
Introduction
In response to an urgent security requirement, our team promptly deployed to Dunggoan, Danao, Cebu to begin the installation of a high-definition CCTV system at a warehouse facility. The request came in early Monday, and due to the time-sensitive nature of the project, the team immediately mobilized from our Mandaue City office. Given the considerable travel distance and remote site location, the team remained on-site for three consecutive days and nights to fast-track progress.
This update highlights the initial accomplishments, challenges encountered, and technical solutions implemented to meet the client’s unique infrastructure needs.
Project Deployment and Work Completed.
Upon arrival, the team conducted a final site walkthrough and immediately commenced with the physical installation. A total of six outdoor IP cameras were mounted at strategic points around the warehouse, providing comprehensive perimeter surveillance. The cameras were selected for their weather resistance, high resolution, and night vision capabilities to ensure uninterrupted 24/7 monitoring.
Cable Routing Challenge and Fiber Backbone Solution.
One of the key challenges faced on-site was the lack of available wall conduits or underground pathways to route network cables between the warehouse and a nearby small house designated as the control room. Trenching was not a viable option due to time constraints and site conditions. Additionally, the client preferred that no digging be done and instead requested that the cable be suspended mid-air.
To meet this request without compromising data integrity or system reliability, our team proposed the use of a fiber optic cable as the backbone. Unlike traditional copper (Cat6) cables, fiber optic cables are highly durable over long distances, immune to electromagnetic interference, and well-suited for elevated, suspended installations.
Technical Implementation:
Media Converters will be used at both ends of the fiber run to convert the signal between Cat6 and fiber.
At the warehouse end, the IP cameras connect via Cat6 to a media converter, which then transmits data through the suspended fiber line.
At the receiving end in the small house, another media converter transitions the signal back to Cat6 and into the Network Video Recorder (NVR) housed in the secure data cabinet.
Photos taken during the middle of the operation captured the team’s active progress in deploying equipment and securing camera placements.
Next Steps:
With the physical camera installations completed, the following tasks remain:
Finalize and secure the suspended fiber optic line.
Complete system configuration and testing.
Conduct a full demonstration of the surveillance system.
Turn over the operational system to the client with proper documentation and training.

This progress update marks a key milestone in enhancing the security posture of the warehouse facility in Dunggoan, Danao. Our team’s quick response, adaptability, and on-site dedication ensured that the installation advanced rapidly despite logistical and structural constraints. By leveraging a fiber optic backbone suspended mid-air, we were able to meet the client’s specific requirements without compromising performance or quality.
