CCTV Supply and Installation at University of Visayas -- 2nd Progress Update.

Introduction

Following the successful installation of the first wireless CCTV camera and the completion of preliminary infrastructure work, our team has proceeded to the next critical phase of the project—the termination of the power supply lines for both wireless CCTV cameras.

Power Termination Works Begin.

Ensuring a stable and safe power connection is essential for the reliable performance of the CCTV system. Our technicians began this stage by organizing and preparing the electrical lines routed through the previously installed PVC conduits.

Key Activities Completed in This Phase:

  • Power Cable Identification and Testing
Each power line was carefully traced and tested to verify proper voltage output and ensure there were no faults or interruptions in the cable run.

  • Connection to Junction Boxes
The prepared power lines were then terminated inside the mounted junction boxes. This setup provides a secure and weather-resistant enclosure for the electrical connections.

  • Power Termination for Both Units
Both wireless CCTV cameras were connected to their respective power sources, with the wiring neatly terminated and insulated to comply with safety standards and to ensure longevity.

  • Initial Power-On Verification
After termination, each camera’s power supply was tested to confirm that both units received stable power and responded properly when powered on. This step is essential to prevent troubleshooting delays in the final configuration phase.

Why This Step Is Important?

Power termination is a vital milestone in the CCTV installation process. By ensuring each device receives a stable and uninterrupted power supply, we are laying the foundation for continuous surveillance and long-term system performance. It also prepares the system for the next stages—camera alignment, final configuration, and network integration.

Conclusion

With power successfully terminated for both wireless cameras, our next step will be to configure the camera settings, integrate them into the existing monitoring system, and finalize the alignment for optimal surveillance coverage.

We remain committed to delivering a system that is both dependable and secure for the UV Maritime Training Center.
