Execution and Installation (Ongoing).

1. Initial Phase – Pipe Laying and Cable Routing (In Progress).

The installation project at ACS Manufacturing Corporation is currently in its initial phase, with a primary focus on laying PVC conduit pipelines that will serve as protective channels for the CCTV camera cables. These conduits are essential for maintaining system integrity, especially in an industrial environment where exposure to dust, mechanical interference, and possible water ingress is a constant challenge.

At this stage, we are utilizing rigid PVC conduits for their durability, ease of installation, and suitability for the indoor layout of the facility. These pipes are being carefully routed along walls, ceilings, and beams to prepare for the eventual installation of CCTV cameras. The conduit layout is designed to support:

  • Efficient cable routing to avoid interference with ACS’s operations.

  • Future expandability for additional surveillance points.

  • Protection of low-voltage signal cables from external damage.

To securely attach the conduits, pipe brackets and saddle clamps are being used at strategic intervals, ensuring a clean and stable installation that adheres to the site’s safety and aesthetic requirements.

2. Planning for Junction Box Installations.

While full installation of the junction boxes has not yet begun, preparatory work is underway. The placement points for each IP65-rated junction box have already been surveyed and marked. These weatherproof and dustproof enclosures will be critical for housing future cable connections, power splits, and camera terminals.

Each box will be strategically located near key surveillance zones such as entry/exit points, production areas, and storage facilities. These junction boxes will be mounted using steel brackets and industrial-grade anchor bolts, chosen to resist vibrations common in a manufacturing setting.

3. Upcoming Camera Installation.

Once piping and junction box setups are finalized, we will proceed with camera mounting and alignment. The current design includes:

  • Dome cameras for monitoring indoor areas like production floors and office corridors.

  • Bullet cameras and PTZ cameras for outdoor perimeter surveillance, vehicle zones, and wide-angle coverage.

Each camera will be installed using adjustable wall and ceiling mounts, enabling fine-tuned positioning to eliminate blind spots and ensure comprehensive coverage.

4. Network and Power Configuration Plan.

The CCTV system will be based on a centralized NVR (Network Video Recorder) setup, with Cat6 Ethernet cables used for data and power via PoE (Power over Ethernet). The goal is to minimize the use of multiple cables and improve system reliability.

Where additional power sources are needed, PoE injectors and switches will be used to support extended distances. All critical components will be connected to a UPS (Uninterruptible Power Supply) for protection against power fluctuations and to ensure continued surveillance during outages.

5. Testing and Commissioning (Planned).

As soon as all hardware is installed, the project will move into a comprehensive testing and commissioning phase. This will include:

  • Camera angle alignment and clarity tests.

  • NVR connectivity and recording validation.

  • Motion sensor accuracy checks.

  • Day and night functionality evaluation.

  • Storage redundancy and playback tests.

This will ensure the system is fully functional and ready for turnover with documented performance reports.

Challenges Encountered

Every industrial site presents unique challenges, and ACS Manufacturing Corporation was no exception. Some of the hurdles we navigated included:

  • High-temperature zones near production equipment that required careful routing of cabling to avoid heat exposure.

  • Limited cable paths in some areas, necessitating custom drilling and the use of flexible conduits.

  • Active work areas which required phased installation during non-peak production hours to avoid disrupting ongoing operations.

Each challenge was met with adaptive problem-solving, and we ensured zero interruption to ACS’ productivity throughout the project duration.

Value Delivered

The CCTV installation at ACS Manufacturing Corporation delivers the following benefits:

  1. Increased Security: Real-time monitoring of entry/exit points, production lines, and sensitive zones.

  2. Enhanced Operational Oversight: Supervisors now have access to video feeds that help monitor compliance with safety procedures.

  3. Incident Resolution: Footage serves as evidence in case of accidents, disputes, or unauthorized access.

  4. Asset Protection: Warehouse and storage area surveillance mitigates the risk of theft or inventory mismanagement.

  5. Future-Proof System: The IP-based CCTV setup is scalable, allowing ACS to add more cameras as needed.
