CCTV Site Inspection at San Jose Pension House.

Introduction

Our team recently conducted a site inspection at San Jose Pension House to evaluate the layout and infrastructure for an upcoming CCTV installation. This inspection is part of our ongoing effort to provide customized surveillance systems that cater to the unique security needs of hospitality businesses. By assessing key areas across all four floors, we aimed to design a setup that ensures effective coverage, operational efficiency, and long-term reliability.

Client Background

San Jose Pension House, located in a high-foot-traffic area, caters to both short-term and long-term guests. Management reached out with the goal of upgrading their security by installing a structured CCTV system throughout the property. Their priority was a well-balanced solution—one that covers key entry points and common areas while being manageable and scalable for future expansion.

Scope of Inspection.

During the site visit, our technical team identified a total of six strategic camera locations across the building:

  • Ground Floor (3 Cameras):

    • One camera for the lobby’s main angle, providing visibility over check-in and guest flow.

    • One outdoor-facing camera near the main entrance to monitor incoming foot and vehicle traffic.

    • One camera behind the lobby, covering back-office or hallway activity.

  • Upper Floors (3 Cameras):

    • One camera each on floors 2, 3, and 4, strategically placed to capture corridor activity and enhance guest safety.

All proposed camera points were evaluated for mounting feasibility, lighting conditions, and cable routing paths. Special attention was paid to ensure discreet placement without compromising visibility or property aesthetics.

Technology Consideration.

The proposed setup includes the use of IP cameras connected via high-quality networking cables, chosen for their superior image resolution, remote accessibility, and long-term scalability.

To support the system’s operations and storage, the following components were considered:

  • NVR (Network Video Recorder): For centralized footage recording and remote playback access.

  • 1TB HDD (Hard Disk Drive): To provide ample video storage based on expected traffic and recording quality.

  • 6U Data Cabinet: Designed to house and protect all system components, ensuring organized and secure equipment management.

  • PDU (Power Distribution Unit): For efficient and protected power delivery to all devices.

This setup provides a professional-grade backbone for the surveillance system while allowing for future upgrades as the property’s security needs evolve.

Next Steps

Following the inspection, the management team at San Jose Pension House is reviewing the proposed plan. Once approved, we will proceed with equipment procurement, cabling preparation, and installation scheduling.

Our installation plan includes minimal disruption to day-to-day operations, as well as post-installation training for staff on system usage and basic troubleshooting.

Conclusion

This site inspection at San Jose Pension House demonstrates our commitment to designing practical and effective CCTV systems tailored to real-world environments. By understanding the client’s operations, guest dynamics, and infrastructure, we’re able to provide recommendations that are both efficient and scalable.

We look forward to completing this project and helping San Jose Pension House establish a more secure, accountable, and reassuring environment for its guests and personnel alike.
