On April 14, 2026, the InstallersPH IT Solutions team conducted a comprehensive CCTV troubleshooting operation at DRAS Refrigeration Corporation, located in Pagsabungan, Mandaue. The activity aimed to diagnose and resolve technical issues affecting the company’s surveillance system, particularly focusing on power supply concerns and overall system performance. System Assessment and Identified Issues.
The troubleshooting process began at 12:35 PM, where the team carried out a detailed inspection of the existing CCTV setup. The system consisted of eight (8) cameras powered by two (2) separate power supplies. During the assessment, it was discovered that one of the power supplies had been damaged. This issue was traced back to the use of a splitter, which likely caused overloading or uneven power distribution. As a result, four (4) cameras were not functioning properly and failed to display any footage.
In addition to the power supply issue, the team identified another significant concern involving the system’s wiring. The CCTV cameras, which are analog in nature, were connected using Ethernet cables. While Ethernet cables are typically used for digital or IP-based systems, their use in this analog setup was deemed substandard and non-compliant with recommended installation practices. This mismatch in configuration can lead to unstable signal transmission, reduced video quality, and intermittent connectivity issues.
Recommended Solutions and Improvements.
To address the identified problems, the InstallersPH IT Solutions team proposed several improvements aimed at enhancing system performance and reliability. The primary recommendation was to replace the existing power setup with a centralized, heavy-duty power supply. This upgrade would ensure a more stable and consistent power distribution across all cameras, minimizing the risk of future failures caused by overloading or improper configurations.
Furthermore, the team suggested revisiting the wiring infrastructure to align it with standard practices for analog CCTV systems.
