Introduction.
In an increasingly connected world, internet connectivity plays a vital role in both business operations and guest experience. Recognizing the importance of providing reliable internet access throughout their property, Tubod Flowing Water Resort requested our team to conduct a site inspection for the installation of Starlink internet and access point (AP) devices. The goal of this inspection was to assess the resort’s layout and determine the most suitable locations for the installation to ensure strong, stable, and wide-ranging Wi-Fi coverage across the area.
Purpose of the Inspection.
The primary objective of the site inspection was to evaluate the best possible locations for installing the Starlink satellite receiver and Wi-Fi access points. Starlink, a satellite-based internet solution, requires a clear line of sight to the sky to establish a strong connection with the satellite network. Meanwhile, the access points are responsible for distributing this internet connection across various parts of the resort, ensuring that guests and staff have seamless connectivity whether they are in the reception area, cottages, or poolside.
By identifying optimal locations for both the Starlink and AP devices, the team aimed to achieve maximum coverage, minimal interference, and consistent network performance throughout the resort premises.
Site Assessment and Observations.
During the inspection, our technical team conducted a thorough evaluation of the resort’s terrain, building structures, and open areas. Tubod Flowing Water Resort features several recreational zones, cottages, swimming pools, and landscaped areas surrounded by trees and other natural features. These factors were taken into consideration when identifying potential installation sites.
Starlink Installation Site:
After assessing various areas, the team identified an elevated, open location with minimal obstructions as the most suitable site for the Starlink receiver. This position ensures a clear view of the sky, allowing for uninterrupted satellite communication and consistent internet speed.Access Point Placement:
The resort’s layout required a strategic distribution of access points to cover key areas. Recommended placements include the main reception area, poolside vicinity, and guest cottages. These zones are frequently occupied by guests and staff, making them ideal for stable Wi-Fi access.
The team also evaluated signal overlap and range, ensuring that each AP provides strong connectivity without interference or dead zones.Power and Cabling Considerations:
The inspection also included verifying power source availability and cable routing paths. Each recommended site was checked for easy access to power outlets and safe, concealed cabling options to maintain both efficiency and aesthetic appeal.
Recommendations.
Following the assessment, the team recommends installing one Starlink satellite receiver positioned in an open elevated area and multiple access points strategically placed around the resort. This setup will ensure strong, uninterrupted Wi-Fi coverage throughout the facility. In addition, implementing a centralized network controller is advised for easier monitoring, maintenance, and load balancing between APs.
