Assessing the Existing Starlink Equipment
During the inspection, the team confirmed that the property already has a Starlink Gen 3 unit and a Starlink roof-mount bracket available for installation. Having the necessary equipment on-site provides a good starting point, but the mounting hardware still needs to be assessed to ensure compatibility with the roof surface.
Upon inspection, the existing screws included with the roof-mount bracket were found to be intended for cement surfaces. Since these are not suitable for the planned roof installation, the appropriate screws or mounting hardware will need to be sourced before proceeding.
Using the correct mounting hardware is essential to ensure that the Starlink equipment remains firmly secured and capable of withstanding normal environmental conditions.
Roof Accessibility and Installation Preparation
The roof area was inspected and found to be accessible for the planned installation. The client also has multiple folding ladders available, which can assist the technical team during the installation process.
Having proper access to the installation area is an important consideration when planning rooftop equipment installation. The site assessment allows the team to prepare the necessary tools and equipment ahead of time and identify any additional requirements before the actual work begins.
Router Placement and Network Setup
The client’s existing network setup includes Deco mesh routers, which will be considered when finalizing the Starlink network configuration.
During the inspection, the recommended location for the Starlink router was discussed with the client. It was agreed that the router will be installed inside the house on the second floor, near a window. This location provides a practical placement for the equipment while keeping it indoors and accessible.
For a cleaner and more secure setup, InstallersPH IT Solutions also recommends using a wall-mount bracket for the Starlink router. Proper router placement can help keep the equipment organized while contributing to a more professional-looking installation.
Preparing for a Reliable Starlink Installation
The site inspection provided the technical team with the necessary information to prepare for the next stage of the project. Before installation proceeds, the appropriate roof-mount screws or compatible mounting hardware will need to be secured.
