The project involved the physical positioning, structural installation, and partial integration of a multi-biometric access terminal equipped with both fingerprint scanning and facial recognition technology.
Terminal Mounting and Physical Setup.
During the initial phase of the visit, technicians completed the mounting and physical alignment of the biometric terminal at the primary entry threshold. Proper placement is essential for biometric devices, as ambient lighting and mounting height directly impact camera capture angles and optical reader accuracy. The team ensured the unit was securely fastened and ergonomically aligned to allow smooth user interaction for residents and authorized personnel.
Network Infrastructure and Routing Challenges.
While the hardware mounting phase concluded successfully, the network integration phase encountered a structural constraint regarding the local area network layout. Connecting the device to the residence’s router via standard Ethernet cabling is essential for centralized user enrollment, log synchronization, and remote management. However, the network cabinet housing the primary router had already been permanently built in, leaving no open conduit or existing pathway to pass the network cable through cleanly without risking aesthetic damage to the interior finish.
Collaborative Resolution and Next Steps.
To resolve the routing bottleneck without compromising the home’s interior structures, the technical team coordinated directly with the client representative, Sir Noy. The team outlined the requirement for a clean, concealed entry point into the network cabinet to maintain system integrity and visual aesthetics. Once the client’s team provides a suitable cable pathway or access hole, technicians will return to pull the final Ethernet drop, perform IP assignment, calibrate user databases, and fully commission the biometric security system.
