Structured Cabling Site Inspection at Philippine Teen Challenge.

Introduction

InstallersPH IT Solutions recently conducted a structured cabling site inspection at the Philippine Teen Challenge facility. The purpose of the inspection was to evaluate how to extend high-speed internet from the existing Starlink system installed in the main building to a nearby secondary building without experiencing speed degradation or connectivity issues.

Video Overview.

Site Overview.

The facility is composed of two separate buildings: the main building, where the Starlink satellite internet system is currently installed, and a secondary building that requires the same high-speed connection for its operations. The client’s primary concern was ensuring that the extension would not compromise the speed, reliability, or performance of the internet connection in either building.

Inspection Process.

Our team began by assessing the current Starlink installation in the main building, confirming that it was optimally positioned with a clear line-of-sight to the satellites. Next, we evaluated the physical distance, terrain, and possible cable routes between the two buildings to determine the most effective method of connectivity.

During the inspection, we considered various options for linking the buildings, including wireless point-to-point systems. However, due to the client’s requirement for zero speed loss and maximum reliability, we ruled out wireless solutions as they could be susceptible to interference and environmental factors.

Recommendation.

Our technical team recommended deploying a fiber optic structured cabling link from the main building to the secondary building. This solution offers multiple advantages:

  • Zero Speed Loss – Fiber optic ensures the secondary building receives the same high-speed internet as the main building.

  • High Reliability – Immune to electromagnetic interference and unaffected by distance within the site’s range.

  • Future-Proofing – Capable of supporting higher bandwidth needs as the facility’s internet requirements grow.

The proposed design involves running a dedicated fiber optic cable between the two buildings, terminating at network equipment that will distribute the connection efficiently and securely.

Conclusion

The inspection confirmed that a fiber optic structured cabling bridge is the best solution for extending the existing Starlink connection to the second building at Philippine Teen Challenge. This setup will ensure both buildings enjoy identical internet speed and stability, enabling seamless communication, online activities, and operational productivity.
