Structured Cabling at Talisay Residential Property -- 8th progress.

Introduction

Building on the successful cable organization and routing through the vertical cable manager, the team progressed with the remaining tasks to prepare the structured cabling system for testing. This phase focused on temporary bundling, termination verification, and ensuring proper signal integrity before final performance validation.

Work Accomplished:

1. Temporary Cable Bundling with Masking Tape

To maintain organization while awaiting permanent bundling solutions:

  • Used masking tape to temporarily group cables by floor (Ground, Second, Third)

  • Applied tape at consistent intervals to prevent cable tangling during routing

  • Ensured tape was not overtightened to avoid cable jacket deformation

  • Clearly labeled each bundle with floor identification

2. Cable Slack Management

To maintain proper service loops without excess clutter:

  • Trimmed unnecessary cable lengths while preserving adequate slack

  • Coiled remaining slack in uniform loops at designated access points

  • Temporarily secured coils with masking tape for neatness

3. Termination Point Verification

Conducted thorough checks of all connection points:

  • Validated labeling accuracy at patch panel and wall outlets

  • Re-seated any questionable RJ45 terminations

  • Visually inspected punch-down blocks for proper wire seating

4. Preliminary Continuity Testing

Performed basic connectivity verification:

  • Used handheld tester to confirm end-to-end continuity

  • Identified and flagged any open or crossed pairs

  • Documented results for reference during final testing

5. Pathway Finalization

Prepared cable pathways for permanent installation:

  • Straightened and aligned all cable runs

  • Adjusted temporary bundling as needed for proper routing

  • Verified adequate bend radii throughout vertical manager

Conclusion

The team has made significant progress in preparing the structured cabling system for final commissioning. By implementing temporary masking tape bundling, we’ve successfully:

  • Maintained organized cable routing across all floors while awaiting permanent securing solutions

  • Preserved cable integrity through proper tension management and bend radius control

  • Established a solid foundation for upcoming performance testing and permanent installation

This temporary organization method has proven effective in keeping the project moving forward while ensuring we maintain flexibility for any necessary adjustments before finalizing the installation. The system is now well-positioned for the transition to permanent bundling and comprehensive performance validation.

With the physical layout complete and preliminary testing underway, we’re on track to deliver a high-performance, serviceable network infrastructure that meets all design specifications and industry standards. The next phase will focus on replacing temporary measures with permanent solutions and verifying ultimate system performance.
