Introduction.
A reliable CCTV system plays an important role in helping property owners monitor important areas and improve overall security. As properties change and security requirements grow, existing surveillance systems may also need to be expanded to cover areas that were previously left unmonitored.
InstallersPH IT Solutions recently conducted a CCTV site assessment along Andres Abellana Extension, Guadalupe, Cebu City, following the client’s request to add three additional cameras to their existing surveillance system.
The assessment focused on identifying the areas that require additional coverage and determining the appropriate camera type based on the property’s existing CCTV infrastructure.
Existing Longse CCTV System.
The property currently has an existing Longse CCTV system that uses analog technology. Since the current surveillance setup is based on an analog system, the proposed additional cameras will also utilize analog CCTV cameras.
Maintaining compatibility with the existing system is important when expanding a CCTV installation. Using compatible equipment can help simplify integration with the existing recorder and infrastructure while allowing the client to expand their surveillance coverage according to their needs.
Identifying Security Gaps.
During the assessment, it was identified that certain areas of the property were not currently covered by CCTV cameras.
These uncovered areas created potential blind spots where activity could not be monitored through the existing surveillance system. To address this concern, the client requested additional cameras specifically for these locations.
Identifying CCTV blind spots is an important part of maintaining an effective surveillance system. Even if a property already has several cameras, uncovered areas can limit the overall effectiveness of the security setup.
Additional Cameras for the Kitchen.
The kitchen was identified as one of the areas requiring additional surveillance coverage.
To provide better visibility of the space, two analog CCTV cameras will be installed in the kitchen. Having two cameras allows the area to be monitored from different viewing angles and can help minimize potential blind spots.
Proper camera positioning will be considered during installation to ensure that the cameras provide useful coverage while taking the layout of the kitchen into account.
Additional Camera for the Hallway.
The hallway was also identified as an area requiring CCTV coverage.
One additional analog CCTV camera will be installed in this location. Hallways can be important areas to monitor because they often serve as connecting points between different parts of a property.
Adding a camera in the hallway can help provide additional visibility and improve the property’s overall surveillance coverage.
Expanding an Existing CCTV System.
Adding cameras to an existing system can be an effective way to improve security without necessarily replacing the entire CCTV setup.
