Site Inspection Video.
Introduction.
Our technical team recently conducted a scheduled CCTV troubleshooting and maintenance service to improve the reliability and performance of an existing surveillance system. The activity included diagnosing a disconnected camera, performing preventive maintenance, and upgrading the system’s storage capacity to ensure continuous video recording.
Initial Site Visit – June 15, 2026
The team arrived on-site at 10:00 AM and immediately coordinated with the client regarding the reported issue. According to the client, one CCTV camera located in a specific area had stopped working and lost its connection to the recording system.
The team began troubleshooting the problem by inspecting the camera connections, wiring, and recording system. After conducting several checks, the issue was identified and corrective actions were performed to restore the camera’s connection and functionality.
While on-site, the team also performed general preventive maintenance for the entire CCTV system. Each camera was carefully cleaned to remove accumulated dust and dirt from the lenses. Regular cleaning is important because it helps maintain clear video quality and improves overall camera performance.
During the inspection, another issue was identified involving the system’s storage capacity. The installed Hard Disk Drive (HDD) had limited space and could only store approximately four days of recorded footage. As a result, the remaining days were no longer being saved because the storage was already full.
Although the team intended to replace the hard drive immediately, the available working time was not enough to complete the upgrade on the same day. Work concluded at 12:00 PM, and a follow-up visit was scheduled for Thursday to complete the HDD replacement.
Follow-Up Visit – June 18, 2026
The technical team returned to the site on Thursday morning at 10:20 AM to complete the remaining work. The main objective of the visit was to replace the old storage drive with a new 2TB Hard Disk Drive (HDD).
To safely perform the upgrade, the recording system was first powered down. The old hard drive was carefully removed and replaced with the new 2TB HDD. After installation, the system was powered back on and configured to recognize and use the new storage device.
The upgraded 2TB storage capacity significantly improves the system’s recording capability. Unlike the previous hard drive, the new HDD can now store a complete seven days of surveillance footage without running out of space.
Before leaving the site, the team conducted a full system test to ensure all CCTV cameras were properly connected, functioning correctly, and successfully recording video to the new storage drive. All maintenance and upgrade activities were completed successfully at 11:20 AM.
Conclusion.
The CCTV troubleshooting, maintenance, and storage upgrade were successfully completed, improving both the reliability and performance of the surveillance system. With the installation of the new 2TB hard drive and proper maintenance of all cameras, the client can now benefit from clearer video quality, stable camera connectivity, and uninterrupted 7-day recording capability.
